In 2022, the value added by the industrial enterprises above designated size was up by 4.3%. Group by economic types, the added value of stock enterprises rose by 8.6% over the previous year; that of foreign-funded and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-funded enterprises decreased by 0.6%, of which the Taiwan-funded ones fell to 6.8%; the state-owned ones up by 20.9% and the private ones went up by 2.5%. In terms of industrial types, the value-added output for the light industry sector rose 5.1% from one year earlier while that of the heavy industry sector climbed by 3.8%. The ratio of added value between light and heavy industry stood at 1︰1.65. The output-sales ratio was 93.31%, 1.42 percentage lower over the previous year.
Xiamen had seen 18 out of 35 sectors above designated size achieve a positive growth of added value, among which that of ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry surged by 87.3%, that of railways, ships, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing increased by 53.8%, and that of food manufacturing increased by 44.9%. Among the top three sectors, The added value of the computer, telecommunication and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased by 2.5%, that of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing increased by 14.2%, while that of pharmaceutical manufacturing industry declined by 2.5%, altogether accounting for 48.1% of the industries above the designated size. The added value of high-tech industries above designated size remained unchanged year on year, accounting for 42.2% of the total.
Throughout the whole year, Xiamen had 2,889 industrial enterprises above designated size, among which 928 companies had an annual output value of over 100 million yuan, dominating 88.9% of the whole city’s above-scale industrial output. 1,461 enterprises (50.6% of the total) were from the two largest pillar sectors-electronics and mechanics, contributing 61.0% of the total output value of above-scale enterprises, of which 34.5% was for electronics and 26.5% for mechanics.
The industrial enterprises above designated size had generated profits of 55.181 billion yuan, down by 14.5%. 100 yuan of business revenue came at an average expense of 82.75 yuan in industrial enterprises above designated size, an increase of 1.33 yuan over the previous year, with operating income margin reaching 7.02%, down 1.38 percentage points. At the end of the year, the asset-liability ratio of industrial enterprises above designated size was 48.28%, down 0.86 percentage points from the end of the previous year.
The main products made by the industrial enterprises above designated size were as follows: the amount of lithium batteries was 25.3198 million, an increase of 1.3 times; that of new energy vehicles was 18.7 thousand, an increase of 45.9%; and that of LCD module was 30.9149 million sets, up by 15.6% (see table).

Construction Industry 
In the year 2022, the added value of the construction industry was 80.942 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5% over the previous year. The city's qualified construction enterprises had completed a total output value of 351.348 billion yuan, an increase of 9.0%, of which the output value of construction projects was 320.712 billion yuan, an increase of 6.6%; the output value of installation projects was 20.428 billion yuan, an increase of 20.8%. The amount of new contracts signed by construction enterprises for the year was 306.055 billion yuan, down by 4.2%.
